Access Worker
Job Description:
The Supervised Access Program, Centre York Centre is currently seeking to fill a part-time Casual Access Worker position for the Hawkesbury site. CYC offers separated/divorced families experiencing difficulties, a safe setting, where visits and exchanges can take place without the children witnessing conflict between the parties.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Highly developed observational and recording skills
Ability to write accurate, unbiased and neutral notes about a visit and/ or an exchange
Flexibility, sound judgment and ability to work as a team player
Highly developed skills in conflict-resolution and problem- solving
Experience working with computers. Programs such as MS Word, Excel, and others.
Requirements:
Bilingual (in French and English), written and spoken
Understanding/knowledge of child development, separation/ divorce issues/ family violence, Family Court proceedings, child and Family Services Act and substance abuse issues
Must submit to a criminal background screening
Working towards or have a college diploma in Social Services and/ or Early Childhood Education field or equivalent
Must be willing to work weekends.
Have a valid driver’s license to commute between Hawkesbury and the main office in Cornwall.
